Austin "Acie" Bray Thursday, December 9, 1993 - Tuesday, July 11, 2017

On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, Austin “Acie” Bray, 23, formerly of Ridgeley, WV, left this world to be with his loved ones in heaven.

Born December 9, 1993 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of John Bray and Teri (Jenkins) Bray.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Acie “Bing” Ellsworth Bray and Ida (Raley) Bray.

Austin was a graduate from Frankfort High School, class of 2012.

Everyone who crossed his path would agree that “Acie” had a beautiful soul and a heart of gold. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially Blake Andrews and Harley Jenkins. Our son could not find his place here on earth, but we are certain he is at peace now.

Besides his parents, “Acie” is survived by his grandparents John Jenkins, Jr., and Peggy Lee (Williams) Jenkins and boyfriend Dallas Tabler, all of Ridgeley, WV; his sister, Alissa Bray and boyfriend Ronnie Shambaugh, Cumberland, MD; his very special niece, Khaleesia “KK” Belle Shambaugh, with whom he had a very special bond. She made his world a little brighter. He is also survived by his uncles and aunts: Tina Bray, George and Tara Bray, Johnny Jenkins, Sheila Jenkins and Jim Andrews, Steve Jenkins, and Vicky Dye; several great aunts and uncles, and too many cousins to name. He loved them all deeply. He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Rachel Gonzalez, whom he loved and cared for.
He will be sadly missed by so many.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Friday from 2-5 PM.

There will be a private interment at Nethken Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations would be greatly appreciated under these unexpected circumstances. Donations can be made in Austin’s name to the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, MD 21502.

I offer my deepest condolences to the Bray family on Austin's passing.  Isaiah 25:8 says that He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.

I pray that this scripture brings some comfort to the family during their time of bereavement.

Jon Jon & Teri, I am so sorry. John, Peggy, Johnnie, Sheila and Stevie, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I will be praying that God will comfort all of you through this devastating loss. God Bless you all.
